I'm a Virtual Reality (VR) maker, mentor, and writer -- my professional interests include immersive software development, and writing about technology and ethics. In my own VR practice, I am most excited by the combination of immersive technology and movement, sometimes known as exergaming.
Jewish-American and Xennial, I have always been early -- growing up, I was one of the first people to have a fully networked adolescence. I currently live outside of Philadelphia, having spent over a decade working for various B-Corps and nonprofits in the city. I'm also a musician.
MS in Computer Science, Unity Certified Associate Programmer.
My influences include William Gibson's Neuromancer, and Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash. I grew up around early 8-bit graphics and games, and value interesting interaction over realism, although I am also a sucker for visual bling!
I'm most interested in developing building blocks for Unity VR experiences at the level of application architecture and C#. One of my core philosophies is that limiting scope, or specialization as enabled by collaboration is the best model for success. In that, I'm thrilled by artists who make asset packs, animators who make ambient animations, coders who deploy GitHub repos, people who make VR content and play throughs, play testers, composers...etc. A special role is that of producer / cat-hearder, bringing all those people together, but I know my lane!
